Hooters – Bans Guns.

No Hooters

Here’s the email we received from them.  Our question did not specify “concealed”, but the point is moot:

“Dear <2ACheck>:

We at the Hooters Hotline received your inquiry regarding our policy on carrying concealed weapons.  Thank you for taking the time to contact us.

In areas where concealed weapons are allowed, we do post a sign that says ‘firearms and other weapons are not permitted on the premises.’ Thankfully, it is a choice we have the freedom to make. We respect those customers who decide not to patronize our business because of this decision.

We do hope that this information is helpful.  However, if you would like more information about us, please visit us on the Web at www.hooters.com.

Thanks so much for writing.  We appreciate your interest and look forward to seeing you in one of our neighborhood restaurants soon.

Sincerely,

Tamanda
Hooters Hotline…We give a Hoot!”

The only “guns” they want in their restaurants are the ones being shamelessly flaunted by the waitresses.  They seem really happy to be able to turn away our business and graciously will respect our decision if we choose not to patronize their business because of their “no guns” policy.  Let’s not disappoint them.  BOYCOTT.

  2. Personally I believe the old man in Atlanta got bumped off by the Italians in the Clearwater/Atlanta milleaux over the tug of war between Hooters of Florida and the American franchise rights, pertaining to gaming and casinos years back. Isn’t that ironic ? An organization steeped in organized crime having a no gun policy? Guido and Luigi …the rules apply to everyone else.

  3. Why does the Op even allow these anti-2ndAmendment posts. Just purge them.

  4. Stop your whining…Your dollar is your weapon, not a gun. If you want to spend your $ on boobs & beer…do it. If you don’t than go someplace else…As Americans, you have that right. Where I choose to go or whether I’m strapped or not should be of no consequence to anyone unless you plan to do me harm.

  5. I am 55 years old and have never been in a hooters. It’s not that I don’t like girls showing off their assets, just never been in one, but I carry a gun and don’t frequent any place that wont allow me to protect myself and family

  6. There shouldn’t be all these bullshit laws! The 2nd amendment is my carry permit. Universal carry across all 50 states! If a store doesn’t want to uphold a basic human right, then, they close down. I am sick & tired of the overreaching local & federal laws! We are supposed to be a free country! I’m sorry to inform y’all but, in a free society. People are armed. A human right, a God given human right, as outlined in our Constitution. Enables us to live, breath, pray & defend yourself against ANYONE threatening you with bodily harm! These are the facts and they are undisputed.

  9. I think it’s funny people whine about natural body parts, at the same time they want to be able to carry deadly weaponry into places. Your logic is basically “how dare you show your body to me and then tell me not to bring destructive and deadly killing devices into your establishment! “Perhaps hooters doesn’t want to be apart of all that garbage.

    • They are pretty high minded, for a company that has in the past require that their waitresses blow the manager to keep their job. I don’t believe it, check the news on the folders that used to be located on Sahara in Las Vegas. I would remind hooters that their 911 call the police will elicit a response in 12 to 20 minutes while a scream out to an armed patron elicits a response of 1000 ft./s. Which would they rather have?

  10. The Rockford, Il location has no sign up. Used to go to BWW’s all the time until I got my CCL. Now I’m a Hooter’s kind of guy!

  11. How are you going to be rude about body parts that are “shamelessly flaunted by the waitresses” when you’re the one patronizing the restaurant and paying extra to ogle young women? they’re not shamelessly flaunting, they’re separating skeezy men from their money.

    • Sounds like a typical narrow-minded female comment. You’ve probably never been in one of their restaurants because you would know you’ll see far more skin at the beach or by a pool.

  13. Hooters in Knoxville TN does NOT HAVE A SIGN posted on the OUTSIDE of the building, but does have ONE posted inside the building to go out on the Patio area. We ran into this problem this past weekend. Manager was adamant about the fact that he DID have a sign outside, we told him that there wasn’t because had there been one we would not have patronized the business…my boyfriend doesn’t carry concealed, he carries open, I carry concealed.

  15. There are two different kinds of Hooters restaurants. That’s corporate who sent you a letter. The Hooters I’ve been to in Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky do not have signs banning firearms. I’m licensed to carry in all of those states. Not that I’ve been to all Hooters, but it’s on my bucket list :)

    • Pop, I think there are greater things in life to do before you die than visiting Hooters. But sure, see some girls in T-shirts and eat some wings. You might want to switch that dream up for some international travel to open your mind and expand your view of the world.

  16. Irony: A Leftist hiding behind a corporation and calling it freedom while out of the other side of their mouth they complain that corporations “aren’t people and don’t have rights.”

If hypocrisy did not exist Leftists would have nothing to do but drool on themselves.

  19. In Florida you are asking for trouble carrying into an establishment that serves so much alcohol. It is a felony to carry into a bar. Just walking past the bar to go to the restroom may be sufficient to get you in legal trouble.

    • Always know the law. In many states it is legal to posses a firearm in an establishment that serves alcohol…In others it is illegal.
