2ACheck Rating: “B” – Wawa is gun-friendly.

Wawa corporate customer service has confirmed that they allow lawful firearm carry for customers.  Employees may not carry.  Below is a quote from the email we received from them in March, 2013.

“Hello <2ACheck>!

I would like to thank you for reaching out to us! I apologize for the confusion in our prior e-mails. I am the Customer Service Engagement Sr. Analyst, and I just read through your inquiry about our in-store weapon policy.

I hope that I can clarify what both Howard and Jim were both trying to explain below. Although our associates are not allowed to carry weapons while on the clock (the definition of weapon that Howard provided was from our associate manual), we do not currently have a no-weapon policy for our stores.

The open carry or ability to carry weapons into our stores are in accordance with each state’s laws. So in Virginia, if you have an open-carry policy within the state, then we would have no regulations. Of course we ask that you are responsible and obey the laws to the fullest extent.

I hope this helped to clarify, If you have any further questions or concerns, you are more than welcomed to call us at 1.800.444.9292, and we are here 24 hours a day. If you would like to speak with me directly, my direct line is 484-840-1869.
